# Data exports

> Read Organization feedback data for analysis in your reporting tools.

StudentPulse provides an Organization-specific, read-only export URL. Reporting tools can read the feed and combine the feedback data with institution data.

The feed contains one row per answer to a question. A row can also include a comment and the associated action activity.

## What the feed contains

* Reply and answer identifiers.
* Question text, response options, type, and Driver metadata.
* Check-in details and its active dates.
* Organization, parent Organization, and grandparent Organization.
* Engagement item and Microform activity.
* Creation and activity timestamps.

See the [data dictionary](/exports/data-dictionary) for the source field names and examples.

## Data flow

| Stage | What happens |
| - | - |
| Collection | A student submits answers through a Check-in. |
| Export | StudentPulse prepares the reporting feed for the Organization. |
| Import | Your reporting tool reads the export URL. |
| Reporting | You transform, model, and analyze the data in your workspace. |

## Refresh timing

The source documentation specifies a nightly export update at **02:00 UTC**. It recommends a reporting refresh after **03:00 UTC**.

The first export is available after the next nightly run. Allow for the initial processing of historical data.

<Note>
  Confirm the current export schedule with StudentPulse. This timing comes from the November 2025 documentation and is not a service guarantee.
</Note>

## Join institution data

Use agreed course, program, or Organization identifiers to join feedback data to your own data. StudentPulse can discuss an additional identifier for your setup.

Do not assume that a student identifier is part of the standard export. Confirm the available fields and permitted use with StudentPulse.

## Set up a reporting tool

Follow the [Power BI and Fabric guide](/exports/power-bi) to enable the export and connect a report. Use the [data model](/exports/data-model) to choose keys and avoid counting the same Reply more than once.

Treat the export URL as confidential. Share it only with people and systems that should have access to the feed.
